Our Photography
Magazine Style Portraiture –
Whereas traditional portraiture focuses on what a person looks like, magazine
style portraiture focuses more on capturing mood, expression, and body
language. By doing so, we create images that look alive, or have a moody,
mysterious or dramatic feel to them.
Our popular black-and-white photography
comes from David’s early studies of the works of Francesco Scavullo, Herb
Ritts, Marco Glaviano, and Patrick Demarchelier. Many images from our very
popular high-school senior work were, and are, inspired by modern fashion
magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar, Elle, etc. Even our family photography is
reminiscent of Vanity Fair covers.
Fine Art Portraits – Although we do Photographic Art (described in the following section) we also have a strong demand for Fine Art style portraits – portraits that allow our clients to be posed as a piece of art. These pieces are inspired by Old-Masters paintings, sculptures, and poster art.
Photographic Art – Much of our work is available for sale as individual art pieces, the most popular being our Sculpting with Light Series.
Advertising Photography – We produce individual and group portraits for magazine and newspaper advertisements, corporate brochures, web-sites, and other placements. Our advertising photography has appeared in numerous national publications.
Model Portfolio and Actors Headshots
– The popularity of David’s model portfolio work is evident in the over thirty
Showcase Awards (twenty-four presently active on the site) from the One Model
Place website, the world’s largest website showcasing the work of models and
model photographers.
In addition, David not only provides
services for an abundance of local actors represented by several local
agencies, but former clients now located in major media areas such as Los
Angeles still return to David for their headshots.
Pageant and Entertainers Headshots – David’s first portrait studio client was a contestant in the Miss Texas USA pageant. Today, images for pageant contestants remain a large part of our business. Our clients include a former Miss USA, several former Miss Texas USA winners, and countless winners of local pageants from Central Texas and around the state. Our creative expertise is also used for entertainment promo shots (CD covers and liners, website photos, etc.)
