David Neuse has been an enthusiastic photographer since 1970.  In 1988 he began his professional photography career by creating David Neuse Photography, a custom portrait studio located in Austin, Texas.  David is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and the National Association for Photoshop Professionals. Mr. Neuse's work has been published in the New Yorker, Modern Salon, Teen, FHM, Bon Appetite, House & Garden, Pageantry, and other notable publications.

HANNAH- System Maintenance

Hannah joined us as an intern from Akins High School in spring of 2008. She has been attending ACC since graduating and is interested in pursuing either photography or psychology. Hannah's responsibilities include assisting Vanessa in maintaining the studio’s network, various administrative duties such as administrative quality control, and is currently in the process of increasing the studio's ability to archive client files by transferring older client files to larger volume storage media.

JONYROSE- Production Manager, Customer Relations, and Photographer Assistant

Jonyrose has just begun attending the Art Institute of Austin and is progressing towards a future career in editorial fashion photography She oversees the execution of all customer orders, coordinating retouching, printing, mounting, through pickups and deliveries. Jonyrose also directs the studio's interns and oversees the projects and duties of the interns. She also assists Shannon with customer relations (appointments, consultations, and orders).

Kristen has 6 years of experience as a professional makeup artist. She was trained as an Esthetician but quickly made the transition into doing makeup for photographers and live events. Kristen provides makeup services for some of David’s model test shoots and backs up Christy when necessary. She is a wife and mother of two, with another on the way! As a result, Kristen has taken her experience with retouching and is now assisting David with the retouching stage of the proofing process from home.

Shannon, David’s daughter, has worked part time for the studio since she was 8 years old. She is now a senior at St. Edwards University majoring in Public Relations (Communications). She has recently taken on the job as studio manager, and oversees and directs all phases of the operation within the studio. Shannon also oversees all of the studio’s marketing activities including the Senior Representative program.

VANESSA – Digital Artist, Graphic Design, Production Assistant, and IT Manager

Vanessa is a senior graphic design major with a minor in anthropology at Texas State University and has continued to amaze us with her digital art expertise. Vanessa does all of our most creative digital art as well as the most complex retouching jobs. She also assists David with studio set design and Shannon with the graphic design portion of marketing projects. Vanessa also has the tedious but important responsibility of maintaining the studio’s network and keeping the 5 workstations from overflowing. She also assists Jony in the production process.

CHRISTY- Makeup Artist

Christy has 17 years of experience as one of Austin’s premier makeup artists. She received a B.S. in Art and after teaching for 7 years, she decided that "painting people" would be fun! She spent 5 years as a Regional Makeup Artist for Chanel Cosmetics before starting her own business. Christy has been our primary contract makeup artist for 11 years. In that time, she has performed over 3000 makeup sessions in our studio and has a very loyal following with our clients for photography sessions and for events such as proms and weddings.
